RADNOR, PA – One hundred ten minutes was not enough to determine a winner tonight, as Cabrini and Rutgers-Camden played to a 1-1 draw at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
Despite outshooting the Scarlet Raptors 7-2 in the opening 45 minutes, the Cavaliers could not solve the visitor's defensive scheme, as the score sheet remained blank at the half.
The action picked up in the second half with the teams combining for 11 shots and six corner kicks.
The Blue and White took advantage of a chance early in the stanza, as junior
Matt Duddy turned the corner on the baseline and found senior
Nick Booth for the game's first marker.
Both teams created solid scoring chances as the ball flew from end to end, but it was the visitors who next found the back of the net.
With time dwindling, the Scarlet Raptors' Skyler Diggs converted a long 82nd minute throw-in to even the score at 1-1.
Both teams looked for the game-winning tally in extra time, but to no avail, as the clubs combined for five shots and four corner kicks in the extra 20 minutes of action.
Duddy accounted for five of Cabrini's 16 shots on the night, with a quartet of Cavaliers adding two each. Sophomore goaltender
Griff Rogers added three saves.
The road gets no easier for Cabrini as the Eastern Eagles will come calling on Saturday night. The annual Battle for Eagle Road will kick off at 6pm.
