Women's Soccer Wins Second Consecutive with Home Shutout

RADNOR, PA - The Cabrini women's soccer team rolled to a 3-0 victory over the visiting Alvernia University Golden Wolves this afternoon at Edith Robb Dixon Field.

The Cavs defense held the Golden Wolves to two shots, one on net, and no corner opportunities. Up front the Blue and White took 13 shots with eight on frame and had nine corner opportunities, including seven in the second half.

Three Cavaliers, graduate student Maria Hagan, senior Kait Cloud, and freshman Anna Bond all found the back of the net in the first half. Hagan, assisted by Ella Marrollo, got Cabrini on the board nine minutes into the game with a shot from just outside the box that sailed into the top right corner. Eleven minutes later Marrollo drove hard to the net and chipped a ball over the Alvernia keeper to set Cloud up with an easy tap-in goal for her second of the season, 2-0. Bond rounded out the scoring as she notched her first career goal off of a beautiful cross from junior Kelly Kane, 3-0 in favor of the home team.

Morello, with two assists, recorded her first career multi-point game.

Graduate student, Ashley Tutzauer finished the game with one save. Tutzauer now has two consecutive shutouts and has not allowed a goal in over 269 minutes of play.

Following today's match, Cabrini improves to 4-4-1 overall and will look extend the win streak on Wednesday, October 6th as they play host to Rutgers-Newark. Match time is slated for 7pm.
