DOYLESTOWN, PA – The Cabrini men's soccer team improved to 2-0 on the young season today with a 3-0 victory at Delaware Valley University.
Eight Cavaliers accounted for the Blue and Whites 10 shots, with senior
Christian Rafter, junior
Matt Duddy and sophomore
Nick LoBiondo marking the score sheet.
Rafter put Cabrini ahead in the 40th minute, as his unassisted tally sent the squad into the halftime break with a slim 1-0 lead.
Cabrini wasted little time extending its lead in the second half, as Duddy found the back of the net just 90 seconds after the opening whistle.
LoBiondo capped the visiting side's scoring in the 58th minute with his second marker of the season.
Sophomores
MJ Graham and
Griff Rogers combined for four saves a shutout that saw Cabrini force nine corner kicks to just one for the Aggies.
Thomas Fitzsimmons accounted for three of Delaware Valley's (1-1) seven shots, while goaltender John Braun was called on for three saves.
The Cavaliers will play their second consecutive road game on Tuesday, when they visit Center Valley, PA to face DeSales. Kickoff is scheduled for 5pm.
