COLLEGEVILLE, PA – The Cavaliers returned from nearly eight weeks away from competition tonight, as the Blue and White visited Ursinus College. The Cabrini women fell 107-78, while the men suffered a 126-78 loss, their first dual meet loss of the season.
Senior
Sarah Gudas claimed the lone individual event win for the ladies, posting a time of 1:15.53 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Fellow senior
Maddie Werndl and graduate student
Tara McCloskey added a second and a third place finish each.
Werndl scored a second place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (59.81) and a third place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (2:09.47). McCloskey's times of 1:04.95 in the 100-yard butterfly and 2:09.47 in the 200-yard freestyle were good for second and third places, respectively.
Freshman
Kate Ziegler kicked off the year with a pair of bronze finishes in the 200-yard individual medley (2:39.32) and 100-yard freestyle.
On the men's side, sophomores
Michael Gray and
Matt Seifried topped the podium.
Gray claimed victory in the 50-yard freestyle (22.87) and added a second place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.19). Seifried added a win in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.66) before placing third in the 100-yard freestyle (50.89).
Fellow sophomore
Tommy Ronayne added a pair of second place finishes in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:34.95) and 100-yard butterfly (55.09), while senior
Mac Granto reached the wall second in both the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle (5:13.73).
The Cavaliers have little time to reflect on tonight's action, as they will return to action tomorrow at 1pm, when they play host to Cedar Crest College and Widener University.
