ASTON, PA – The Cabrini men's basketball team could not carry the momentum from Saturday's road win through tonight's action, as the Cavaliers suffered an 84-46 loss at Neumann.
Cabrini's 46 points marked a season low, as did its .298 field goal percentage, 27 rebounds and four assists.
Senior
Brice Parks led the Blue and White with nine points, all coming in the first half, while freshmen
Donoven Mack and
Jaden Dickerson added eight points each.
The Cavaliers grabbed an early lead, but the Knights responded with a 9-0 run to build a 15-7 lead six minutes into the action.
The Blue and White kept the home team within reach, as its deficit swung between 5-9 points, but a 7-0 run late in the opening stanza extended Neumann's advantage to 11 points in the final minute of the half, before a Parks lay-up sent Cabrini into the halftime break trailing 37-28.
The Knights scored the first five points of the second half and the Cavaliers never rebounded. Cabrini shot just 6-27 from the field, including 1-11 from three point range after the break.
Jalen Vaughs led the Knights with 25 points and 14 rebounds, while KJ Speller paired 12 points and 11 boards.
The Cavaliers have a few days to regroup before returning to action on Saturday, when they welcome Marywood to Nerney Field House. Game time is set for 3pm.
