RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini men's basketball team held on for a hard-fought 81-78 win over Marywood today at Nerney Field House, improving to 2- 1in the Atlantic East Conference and 6-9 overall.

Aquil Stewart's 26 points led a balanced Cabrini attack that featured five players with at least nine points.

Billy Warren paired 15 points, 11 rebounds and five assists for his first career double-double, while classmate
Brice Parks added a season high 15 points. Sophomore
Milton Robinson chipped in with a career high 11 points in 18 minutes off the bench.
Despite trailing in the opening minutes, the Blue and Whit snapped a 15-15 tie with a 14-1 spurt, as Warren's traditional three point play put Cabrini ahead 29-16 midway through the opening stanza.
The Cavaliers maintained their double digit lead through most of the final 10 minutes of the period, carrying a 44-33 lead into the halftime break after shooting .471 from the field, including 6-13 from three point range.
The Pacers chipped away at their lead in the second half, but the home side held firm and led 69-58 after a pair of Parks free throws with just under nine minutes to play.
The visitors responded with a 14-3 spurt, leveling the score at 72 with just 4:27 to play. Marywood evened the score at 74 and 76 but the Cavaliers continued to come up with big buckets and big stops to maintain their lead.
Leading by one with just under three minutes to play, Parks blocked a Marywood three point attempt before an offensive foul returned the ball back to Cabrini. The Cavaliers tool full advantage, as Stewart hit Warren for a bucket and 79-76 lead wit 1:53 to play.
Marywood responded with a basket with 62 seconds on the clock, pulling within 79-78. Cabrini came up empty on its next possession, but forced another Marywood turnover to maintain the lead.
Stewart split a pair of free throws with 19 seconds to play, re-establishing the Cavaliers' two point cushion. The Cavaliers forced another empty Pacers' possession, but a turnover in the backcourt retuned the ball to the visitors with just four seconds to play.
The Cavaliers, again, turned to their defense, forcing a Marywood turnover on the ensuing possession. Cabrini had a chance to seal the win at the free throw line, but converted just one of two attempts with three seconds to play, giving the Pacers one final shot.
Marywood freshman Brandon Reed go a shot off at the buzzer, but his half court attempt bounced off the rim.
The Cavaliers shot just .379 from the field in the second half, including 1-8 from three point range and 14-24 from the free throw line, but converted 18 Marywood turnovers into 21 points and outscored the Pacers' bench 27-5.
Reed led the Pacers with 26 points, while junior Jason Holman added 19 points.
The Cavaliers have little time to enjoy tonight's win, as they will welcome Gwynedd Mercy to Nerney Field House on Monday night. Tip is slated for 7pm.
