HACKETTSTOWN, NJ – The Cavaliers led for more than 13 minutes in the first half, but a Centenary run late to close the first half proved to be too much to overcome, as the Cabrini men's basketball team suffered an 80-60 loss to the Cyclones.
Cabrini maintained a slim lead through much of the opening stanza, but with four minutes left in the first half, the Cyclones took control of the action. With the score tied at 21, Centenary closed the period on a 16-3 run to take a 37-24 lead at the break.
During the game-defining scoring slump, the Blue and White missed each of its five field goal attempts, with its only points coming at the free throw line.
The Blue and White looked to make a move in the second half, but despite shooting nearly .470 from the field in the second half, the Cavaliers struggled to get their deficit under 15 points.
While Cabrini improved its shooting percentage from .333 in the first half and committed just four second half turnovers, the Cavaliers made just one of its eight second half three point attempts and was outrebounded 27-16 after the break.
Senior
Ryan Byars and freshman
Donoven Mack led the Blue and White with 10 points each, while sophomore
