Tomlin's hat trick propels Cavaliers to 5-0 win on Senior Night

Radnor, PA – The Cabrini University men's soccer team celebrated the program's 12 seniors in shutout fashion Wednesday night as the Cavaliers took down Gwynedd Mercy 5-0 at Edith Robb Dixon Field.

The Cavaliers (7-7-3, 4-2-0 AEC) got out to a hot start as only 29 seconds in, senior Tyler Tomlin scored the first goal of the contest on an assist from fellow senior Nick Booth. Seven minutes later, John Ameyaw connected with Vincent Wilson who finished the play and netted Cabrini's second goal of the game. In the 19', Tomlin extended the Cavaliers' lead as the senior found the back of the net to put Cabrini up 3-0 before intermission.

After the break, Nick LoBiondo netted the Cavs' fourth goal of the match, but Tomlin stole the show as the Wildwood Crest, N.J. native capped off a hat trick with a goal in the 60' minute.

The Cavaliers defense held the Griffins to just two shots on the night with neither being on target.

With the win, the Cabrini University men's soccer team locked up the 3-seed in the Atlantic East Conference championship tournament. The Cavaliers will host a first-round game on Saturday. Saturday's game time and opponent are to be determined.
