SCRANTON, Pa. – The Cabrini University volleyball team swept a pair of matches at the Marywood Tri-Match on Saturday, taking down Marywood and Wilkes both by 3-0 scores. The Cavs are now 12-9 and 1-0 in the Atlantic East.
Cabrini 3, Marywood 0
The Cavs won their AEC opener by set scores of 25-15, 25-13 and 25-17. Cabrini hit .321 in the match including a .444 clip (15-3-27) in the second set en route to the win.
Sophomore outside hitter Sam Heenan led the way with 13 kills on 26 attacks for a .346 hitting percentage, as graduate outside hitter Hannah Dalton had 12. Graduate setter Lexi Conte had 17 assists, while senior setter Taylor Downing had 15.
Graduate libero Gina Custer had 19 digs defensively with Dalton having 15.
Cabrini 3, Wilkes 0
Cabrini won the nightcap by scores of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-14.
Dalton had a match-high 13 kills with Heenan getting nine. Sophomore Jessie Donovan had three aces.
Conte chipped in with 17 assists while Custer had 23 digs. Cabrini hosts Neumann on Wednesday night.
