GLENSIDE, PA. – The Cabrini University men's basketball team dropped its first road game 68-53 to the Arcadia Knights Saturday afternoon at the Alumni Gymnasium.
The Cavaliers (1-1) matched the Knights (1-1) basket-for-basket from the opening tip as it was a back-and-forth contest through the first 10 minutes of action. After the Cavs knotted the game at 14 apiece at the 10:55 mark, Arcadia took a 17-14 lead with 10:38 left to play. The Knights led the remainder of the first half and took a 30-26 advantage into the break.
In the second half, the Cavs continued to keep pace with the Knights as Cabrini's offense faced multiple nine-point deficits but could not trim the Arcadia lead anymore than three possessions. A Donoven Mack jumper made it a nine-point game with 3:58 to play, but the Knights countered with a 3-point field goal to extend their lead to 12 and all but sealing the Cavaliers first loss of the year.
Mack led all Cavaliers scorers with 19 points, going 9-for-17 while Ahmadu Sarnor and Isaac Brady each put up 11 with Brady going 2-for-2 from beyond the arc.
The Cavaliers return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 15 as Cabrini heads across the street to Eastern University to take on the Eagles in the annual Battle of Eagle Road. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
