RADNOR, Pa. – Cabrini University women's basketball saw its home opener spoiled by Albright College on Tuesday night, as the Lions (3-3) defeated the Cavs (2-3) 62-49.
Miranda Liebtag scored a team-high 15 points for Cabrini, while Giana Rullo and Ella Gordon each had eight points.
Albright was led by 19 points from Gabby Boggs, while Amina Rauf had 16 points and Mackenzie Dover added in 15.
Cabrini led early on, taking an 8-5 lead with 4:54 left in the first on a layup by Emma Brown. However, Albright went on a 11-2 quarter ending run to take a 16-10 lead after one.
Trailing 25-18 with 3:18 left, Cabrini went on a 4-0 run to get within three at 25-22 on a jumper by Brielle Fitzpatrick. But, Albright ended the quarter on a 5-1 run to take a 30-23 lead at intermission.
Albright led by as much as 20 in the second half.
Cabrini heads west to California for two games at the David Wells Classic against Pomona-Pitzer and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
