RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini University women's volleyball team secured its spot in the 2022 Atlantic East Championship match on Thursday night, as the top-seeded Cavs (20-11) defeated fourth-seeded Marywood (14-17) 3-0 in the AEC Semifinals.
Set scores were 25-21, 25-12 and 25-12. The Cavs will be appearing in their second-straight AEC final on Saturday, hosting second-seed Marymount at a time to be announced Friday.
Cabrini was led by graduate outside hitter Hannah Dalton who had a match-high 14 kills. During the match, she tied the Cabrini career mark in kills with 1,358. Senior middle blocker Victoria Camacho and sophomore outside hitter Sam Heenan had six kills.
Graduate setter Lexi Conte led the Cavs with 23 assists while senior setter Melanie Cotes-Rivera had 11.
Defensively, graduate libero Gina Custer had 16 digs with Dalton netting eight.
Marywood was led by eight kills from senior outside hitter Shannon Corr, while freshman setter Sydney Steiner had eight assists.
Graduate libero Donna Bostjancic had 12 digs for the Pacers, who were appearing the AEC semifinals for the fourth straight time.
Cabrini defeated Marymount back on October 22 by a 3-2 score in the teams lone meeting.
