BETHLEHEM, PA – The Cavaliers could not overcome a second quarter Moravian scoring run, as the Cabrini women's lacrosse team suffered a 22-14 loss to the Greyhounds today in Bethlehem.

Dana Carlson led the Blue and White with five points, on two goals and three assists, to go with six draw controls. Classmates
Olivia Little and
Shea Neary joined Carlson and graduate student
Ashley Tutzauer and sophomore
Olivia Pace and freshman
Morgan McClintock with two goals each.
Little added five draw controls and two caused turnovers, while Neary collected four draw controls and secured four ground balls. Junior
Jess Ruk also matched Little and McClintock with three ground balls each.
Senior goaltender
Sam Hamalak notched six saves and a pair of ground balls in the loss.
Both teams exchanged early goals, with Moravian building a 3-1 lead midway through the first quarter. The Cavaliers responded with two goals, as Neary and Carlson tied the score at 3-3 after 15 minutes of action.
McClintock's goal in the opening minute of the second quarter gave the Blue and White its first lead of the afternoon. The Greyhounds evened the score just over a minute later, but senior
Kelly Sweeney's goal put the Cavaliers ahead again at the 11:11 mark.
Unfortunately for Cabrini, it would be its final advantage of the day, as Moravian responded with three goals in the next three minutes and built an 8-5 lead with five minutes left in the period. Pace's first goal of the night briefly interrupted the Greyhounds' scoring run, but the home side added four goals in the a 2:10 span late in the quarter to take a 12-6 lead into the halftime break.
The second quarter action proved to be the difference, as the Cavaliers were outscored 9-3 during the 15 minute period. Cabrini collected just two of the period's 11 draws and fell on the short end of a 13-5 shot advantage for Moravian. The Greyhounds also converted 5-6 free position attempts.
The clubs exchanged goals through much of the third quarter, but the Cavaliers looked to make a comeback late in the period. Trailing 14-8, Little tallied a woman-up goal before Neary cut the deficit to 14-10 with 10 seconds left in the quarter.
The Cavaliers looked to carry their momentum into the final period, but Moravian stole the game's mojo with a goal in the final seconds of the third. Control of the game remained with the Greyhounds, as they put the game away with four goals in a 100 second span early in the final quarter.
Megan Donnelly and Lindsey Strohl combined for 11 points, including seven goals, six caused turnovers and 12 draw controls for the Greyhounds. Goaltender Brelyn Friedman recorded 11 saves in the victory.
The Cavaliers will look to snap their four game losing streak on Saturday, as they welcome Stevens Institute to Edith Robb Dixon Field. The opening draw is slated for 1pm.
