RADNOR, PA - The Cabrini University baseball team won their eighth consecutive game as they walked away with an impressive 17-2 victory over the visiting Rosemont College Ravens.
After a 1-2-3 opening inning for the Ravens the Cavaliers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead highlighted by sophomore
Pat Toal's two-RBI single to left field that would bring home what turned out to be the decisive run.
In the second inning, Rosemont recorded their first two hits of the game but fifth slot, Jamen Palladino, grounded into a 6-4-3 double play and starting pitcher/designated hitter Rob Lucas flied out left center field before the visitors could record a runs. The Cavs tacked on one additional run in the bottom of the inning on no hits and an error as sophomore
Jake Eagle advanced home from third on a ground out to first base, 4-0.
After another quick inning from the Ravens, the visitors once again paid the toll in the bottom of the frame. Singles by graduate student

Zack Brook preceded a Toal double to left field for his third and fourth RBI's of the day, 6-0.
The Cavs picked up their second of four double plays on the day in the top of the fourth. Cabrini leads NCAA DIII baseball with 28 double plays so far this season. The Diamond Cavs also rank first in double plays per-game across any division of NCAA baseball, 1.64 DP per-game.
The Blue and White put the game out of reach in the bottom of the fourth as they added four runs on two hits and no errors, 10-0. The inning was highlighted by McKisson who hit a homerun for two RBI's as he brought senior
Garrett Laraia in from second after he doubled down the left line.
Cabrini outscored Rosemont 7-2 over the final four and a half innings en route to the aforementioned 17-2 victory.
The Cavs added a pair of non-standard double plays to their DIII leading total in the back half of the game including a McKisson catch in center field to a tag up by short stop
Gil Peralta at second. The final double play of the game came in the top of the eighth as freshman
Jaden Dickerson, replacing Peralta in the six spot, recorded the rare unassisted double play.
Toal, McKisson, and Peralta led the way offensively for the Cavs as each recorded two hits. Toal and McKisson combined for seven RBI's, with four and three respectively.
On the mound, senior
Mike Valerio earned his second win of the season. Valerio allowed just five hits and no runs in five innings of work with one strikeout.
With the victory Cabrini improved to 14-3 on the season and now has an opportunity to match the program record nine-game winning streak this Friday, March 25
th as the team opens up Atlantic East Conference play at home versus Neumann University. First pitch is set for 3:30PM.
