The Cavaliers jumped ahead in the top of first as senior Dustin Sutton hit an RBI-single up the middle to bring Mack McKisson home. Sophomore, Zack Brook followed with a double down the left line for Cabrini's second unearned run of the inning, 2-0.

The 2-0 advantage would hold until the bottom of the fifth when Kean's Caleb Rodriguez grounded out to second base for an RBI. Cougars sophomore Gianni Marano advanced home on a RBI ground out to shortstop to tie the game at two apiece.

The Blue and White responded in the top of the sixth, as Gil Peralta, Steven Priest and Sutton all doubled to open the inning and take a 4-2 lead. Later in the inning, junior Shane Chavez-Zottnick tacked on one additional run to the Cavaliers score with an RBI-single to left field, 5-2.

The Cavs increased that margin to five with two runs in the top of the ninth, as McKisson hit a two RBI single down the left field line, 7-2.

Cabrini closed out the game with a 1-2-3 inning to hand the Cougars their first loss of the season.

Division I transfer, Pat Toal, pitched his first complete game of the season and remains a perfect 4-0 on the year. The sophomore threw seven strikeouts while allowing just six hits and two earned runs.

Sutton led the way for the Cavs offensively as he went 3-for-5 at the plate for 2 RBI's. Chavez-Zottnick also had two hits along with one RBI. Five others recorded a single hit.
