OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Cabrini University volleyball team split a pair of matches at Day Two of the Stevenson University Quad Match on Saturday.
In the opening match, Cabrini defeated Goucher, 3-0, while falling to undefeated Stevenson, 3-1 in the nightcap.

Cabrini bounced back from a Friday night loss to Arcadia, taking the match from the Gophers 25-18, 25-21 and 25-21.
Graduate student outside hitter Hannah Dalton led the way with 13 kills, four aces and a block. Senior setter Taylor Downing had 16 assists, with senior setter Melanie Cotes-Rivera netting eight.
Graduate libero Gina Custer had 15 digs defensively, with Dalton getting ten.
Cabrini hit .357 in the first set (13-3-28), as the Cavs went on a 7-1 after trailing 6-5 to go up 12-7 and never looked back. The Cavs went up by as much as seven, taking leads of 18-11 and 22-15.
In the second set, Cabrini went up by six early at 9-3 on a Gopher attack error. Goucher had just three kills in the second set.
In the third set, senior middle blocker Victoria Camacho had back-to-back kills to give the Cavaliers an early 8-6 lead, a lead they would never give up.

Stevenson won by set scores of 26-14, 23-25, 25-22 and 26-24.
Dalton had 24 kills, with Hennan netting ten. Dalton picked up two service aces, and 13 digs. Junior middle blocker Lily Baynum had three blocks, with Cotes-Rivera having 16 assists. Downing added in 14.
Dalton finished the match with a .308 hitting percentage (24-4-65).
In the first set, Cabrini led by three – three different times – with the last instance coming at 13-10 on a kill by Camacho. The Mustangs would then go on a 6-0 run to go up 16-13, but, Cabrini would battle back to retake the lead at 20-19 on a set error.
Trailing 24-21, Cabrini tied the score at 24-all before the Mustangs took the final two points of the first set.
In set two, Cabrini took an early 7-1 lead as Dalton had a pair of kills during the run. The Cavs maintained the lead, even as Stevenson got to within one at 23-22. A kill by Dalton made the score 24-22, and then she had the set point on a kill at 25-23.
In set three, Stevenson had as much as a six point lead, before Cabrini again rallied to get withing one at 19-18 on a kill by Heenan.
Finally, set four saw Cabrini fall in a hole early at 8-2, before getting back within one at 8-7. After Cabrini took a lead at 19-18 – on a Downing service ace – Stevenson went up 22-19. The set was eventually tied at 24-all, before two kills from the Mustangs gave them the match.
