RADNOR, Pa. – Cabrini University junior midfielder Nick LoBiondo scored two goals, including the game winner with just over 10 minutes left as the Cavaliers (1-2-2) broke into the win column in a big way with a 2-1 victory over 14th-ranked Washington College (1-1-2) in men's soccer play on a soggy Sunday.
The Cavs – now unbeaten in their last three – won the game despite being outshot 18-4. Cabrini's defensive unit allowed just one goal which was a penalty kick in the 78th minute by Harrison Malone.
After the restart, Cabrini senior forward Matt Duddy was able to get the ball to LoBiondo who was off to the races, and was able to get the shot past Shoremen goalkeeper Anthony Pinto.
Following LoBiondo's goal, the Cavalier defensive unit limited the Shoremen to one shot and held them scoreless. The Shoremen were playing down a man following a red card in the 72nd minute.
Before the penalty kick was called, Cabrini blocked two shots, including a goal line save by senior defender Jake Scully. Junior goalkeeper MJ Graham picked up his first win of the season, making six saves.
In the first half, LoBiondo's goal came at 29:44 on an assist from senior forward Tyler Tomlin.
