TOWSON, Md. – Goucher's Claudia Roller scored the game's lone goal in the 22nd minute as the Gophers (5-0) defeated Cabrini (3-2) 1-0 Saturday afternoon in women's soccer action.
Her goal came on a penalty kick at 21:40, following a Cabrini foul.
The Cavs had a chance to tie it late in the first half, but, a hot from graduate back Ally Wojton hit the crossbar in the 40th minute.
Cabrini got another shot on goal in the 53rd minute but graduate back Madison Rooney's shot was saved by Marissa Spacht. Senior forward Jess Ruk got a shot on goal in the 64th minute, but, it was saved again by Spacht.
The Cavs then had three shots in a span of 1:38 in the 73rd minute but they did not find the back of the goal.
Sophomore goalkeeper Caroline Hassall had three saves for Cabrini, who returns home on Wednesday, hosting Widener under the lights.
