Cavaliers fall to Mighty Macs on the road

IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Cabrini University men's basketball team fell to Immaculata University 76-49 on the road Wednesday night at Alumnae Hall.

The Cavaliers (5-10, 0-2) got on the board first Wednesday night as Aquil Stewart made a jumper just outside the paint at the 19:25 mark. That was the last time Cabrini held a lead in the first half as the Mighty Macs built multiple 20-point leads over the span of the half. With 14 seconds left, the Cavs cut into the Immaculata lead on a Ryan Byars layup to make it a 41-25 deficit heading into the break.

The Cavs opened the second half on a 6-0 run to cut the deficit to just 10 as Christian Lane, Byars, and Stewart scored on three straight possessions. The Mighty Macs countered and did not look back as they went on a 14-0 run over the next seven minutes and took a 55-31 lead with 11:52 left in regulation, all but sealing the win for Immaculata.

Byars led all Cabrini scorers with 10 points.

Immaculata's Keith Farmer led all scorers on the night with 23 points.

The Cavaliers will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 14 as Cabrini heads to Marywood University for a bout with the Pacers. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
