IMMACULATA, Pa. – Making just over 50 percent of their shots, the Cabrini University women's basketball team evened its Atlantic East record at 1-1 with a 76-64 win over Immaculata (7-7, 2-1 AEC) on Wednesday night.
The Cavs (5-10, 1-1 AEC) made 31-of-60 shots (51.7 percent) on the evening and now have won two straight.
Miranda Liebtag netted 24 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the field, with Giana Rullo getting 14 points on a perfect 6-for-6 performance from the field. Emma Brown added in ten off the bench.
For Immaculata, Abigail Lentowski had 24 points with Reese Mullins scoring 20.
Cabrini took the lead for good early in the contest, as a jumper from Emma Pyne at an even five minutes to go in the first gave the Cavs a 12-10 lead. The lead apexed to 24-15 at 57 seconds left in the quarter as on a jumper by Brown.
Cabrini led by as much as ten points in the second quarter, and fended off a Mighty Macs run as IU got within three at 34-31 with 4:08 left. Leading 36-33, Cabrini closed the first half on a 5-1 run to go up 41-34 at intermission.
The Cavs led by as much as 19 in the second half, and had a 30-24 lead on the glad. Katie Rodriguez and Abby Paolini each had seven rebounds for Cabrini. Paolini also had four steals.
Cabrini heads to Marywood on Saturday.
