GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – Behind Abby Paolini's career high 26 points, the Cabrini University women's basketball team won its fifth straight game Saturday afternoon defeating Gwynedd Mercy 86-75.
With the win, Cabrini improved to 8-10 and 4-1 in the Atlantic East, staying right behind first-place Marymount. Gwynedd dropped to 9-9, 2-3 Atlantic East.
Paolini scored 24 of her 26 points from behind the three-point line as she connected on 8-of-15 attempts from three point land, finishing the game 9-for-18 from the field.
Miranda Liebtag had 12 points and nine rebounds, Giana Rullo had 11 points while Katie Rodriguez finished with ten points and a career-high 21 rebounds with 14 of them coming on the defensive end.
The Cavs led wire-to-wire, going up by as much as 20 points with 5:28 left in the second quarter. Cabrini also held a commanding 54-37 edge on the glass.
Gwynedd Mercy was led by Lynzie Eggers and Haley Crossley who both had 25 points.
Cabrini hosts Neumann on Wednesday, ending the first half of Atlantic East play.
