RADNOR, Pa. – Marymount outscored Cabrini 25-10 in the fourth quarter as the Saints (11-2, 1-0 Atlantic East) pulled away from Cabrini (3-10, 0-1 Atlantic East) 67-49 on Wednesday night in women's basketball action at Nerney Field House.
The Saints sank 13-of-14 foul shots in the final ten minutes to grab the win, part of a 23-of-32 performance on the night.
Cabrini was led by Miranda Liebtag who had 12 points, while Brielle Fitzpatrick had ten. Kai Williams scored nine points off the bench.
Katie Rodriguez had four blocks and 11 rebounds defensively for Cabrini.
Marymount put three players in double figures, led by 23 points from Chandler Eddleton and 20 points from Ava Achtyl.
Cabrini held the Saints without a field goal in the first 6:27 of the game, but, could only get a 2-1 lead. Marymount would eventually get up 7-2, before Cabrini responded with 8-0 run to go up 10-7 a foul shot by Emma Brown.
After the Saints went up 16-10 in the second quarter, Cabrini would respond again and get within one at 18-17 on a layup by Fitzpatrick. Cabrini would eventually tie the score at 21-all on a layup by Brown, before Marymount would make two foul shots in the final 35 seconds to go up 23-21.
Cabrini would get as close at 1 several times in the third quarter, but, could not grab the lead.
Leading 42-39 at the end of the third, Marymount scored the first 12 points of the fourth quarter to go up 54-39 and never look back.
Cabrini heads to Salisbury on Saturday.
