SALISBURY, Md. – Behind a double-double from Miranda Liebtag, the Cabrini University women's basketball team defeated Salisbury, 68-40, in a non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon.
Liebtag posted game-highs in points (19) and rebounds (10), while going a perfect 4-for-4 from behind the arc. As a team, Cabrini (4-10) sank ten of 19 attempts from three-point land (52.9 percent). Salisbury (6-12) as a team was 0-for-5.
Ella Gordon added in ten points for Cabrini, with Emma Brown scoring eight.
Emily Dilger had a team-high 13 points for Salisbury.
Cabrini overcame a 3-for-14 shooting performance in the first quarter, making 9-of-13 shots in the second quarter. The Cavs finished the game shooting 45.8 percent from the field (27-for-59).
The Cavs outscored the Seagulls 11-2 over the final 3:49 of the second quarter to take the lead for good. Liebtag had seven points during that run, including a three-pointer with ten seconds left in the first half for a 32-23 halftime lead.
Salisbury would only get within ten the rest of the way, while Cabrini went up by as much as 30 in the fourth quarter.
