Game Recap: Basketball (Men) |

Cavaliers Erase Double-Digit Deficit before Dramatic Finish

Cabrini's impressive comeback falls short in the final seconds of play.

Sellinsgrove, PA - On Friday night, Cabrini Men's Basketball squared off against the River Hawks of Susquehanna University in the National Beef Susquehanna Tip-Off Tournament.

Since the game's opening possession, the Cavaliers fell behind the River Hawks on the scoreboard, as Susquehanna led for all but thirty seconds of play. Cabrini trailed double figures for much of the contest.

Aarick Salata (8) and Bryan Warren (5) combined for 13 points off the bench to pace the Cavaliers offense during their sluggish first half. Up until the break, the Cavaliers shot 9-24 from the field and left 5 points at the line, converting just 1 of their 6 free throw attempts.

Down 57-43 with just 4:27 remaining, Cabrini stormed back into contention. An Isaac Brady three, a Bryan Warren steal and score, and a pair of free throws by Donoven Mack cut the lead to single digits.

On Cabrini's next two halfcourt sets, Eric Neal drew fouls. Neal made all four tries from the stripe to create a five point game. Bryan Warren and Donoven Mack converted layups in transition before a free throw from Mack tied the game at 59.

With five seconds on the clock, Susquehanna used their final timeout to set up a look for their final shot. The River Hawks' game winner from the nail halted Cabrini's emphatic comeback effort.

Bryan Warren (14 points) and Isaac Brady (13 points) led Cavs' scorers in the 61-59 loss.
