Cavaliers offense shines in Sunshine State

BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Cabrini University women's lacrosse team topped Webber International University 22-5 Wednesday afternoon in the only game of the Cavaliers spring break trip.

The Cavaliers (2-1) opened Wednesday's game with six goals in two and half minutes. Freshman Maggie Cella put the Cavs on the board at the 13:41 mark followed one minute later by a goal from Shea Neary to put Cabrini ahead 2-0. Nine seconds later, Olivia Little scored the Cavs third goal. The longest time between goals for the Cavaliers in the quarter was between Morgan McClintock's goal at the 11:13 mark and Little's goal at the 7:21 mark, her third of the game. By the end of the 1st, the Cavaliers led 12-1. Then in the second, Olivia Pace scored twice more while McClintock added one more to her ledger to help the Cavs to a 17-3 lead headed into intermission.

On the other side of the break, Cabrini only added one more goal in the third on Neve Murphy's second of the game. The Warriors netted two in the quarter to trim the Cabrini lead, but the Cavs held an 18-5 edge. In the fourth, Cassidy Starner scored her second of the game while Murphy and McClintock each completed hat tricks for the day and sent Cabrini home with a 22-5 win.

The offense shined on Wednesday as the Cavaliers posted 39 shots with 35 on frame. Little and Murphy led the offense in shots taken on the day as the pair scored on all six. On the defensive side, Little caused two turnovers and six Cavaliers players each scooped one ground ball.

The Cavaliers return to action on Wednesday, March 8 as Cabrini heads to TCNJ for a non-conference tilt with the Lions. First draw is set for 4 p.m.
