EWING, N.J. – The Cabrini University women's lacrosse team fell to No. 3-ranked TCNJ 18-7 Wednesday afternoon on the road in a non-conference match-up.
The Cavaliers (2-2) fell behind early as TCNJ held a 4-0 edge by the 5:32 mark in the first quarter. With 2:25 remaining in the first,
Olivia Little cut the Lions lead to 4-1 as she put Cabrini on the board with a free position goal. The Lions (3-0) then closed out the first with two straight goals to take a 6-1 advantage. With a new 15:00 on the board,
Morgan McClintock and
Shea Neary scored back-to-back goals in the second to cut the Cabrini deficit to 6-3 with 8:33 left until the intermission. Despite a late-quarter goal from
Anissa Serafinehe, the Lions netted two more at the end of the second, and took an 8-4 lead into the break.
In the third, TCNJ opened the quarter with a barrage of goals as the Lions scored five straight and took a 13-4 lead with 7:50 left. The Cavs responded with a goal from Little for her second of the game, but the Lions did not let up as the offense scored thrice more for an eight-goal third quarter. In the fourth, the Lions added two more to their ledger and all but sealed the game with their 18th goal of the contest at the 7:11 mark.
In only her 35th career game, Little eclipsed the 200-point threshold with her free position goal in the first quarter. She finished with four points on the day as she tallied two goals and two assists.
The Cavaliers return to action on Saturday, March 11 as Cabrini hosts Widener University on Edith Robb Dixon Field. First draw is set for noon.
