IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Cabrini University women's lacrosse team topped Immaculata University 18-2 Saturday afternoon on the road.
It was all Cavaliers Saturday as Cabrini scored early and often.
Cassidy Starner opened the day's scoring just 36 seconds into the contest.
Olivia Pace and
Maggie Cella each followed Starner with goals as
Olivia Little assisted both goals and reached the 100-career assists mark while wearing the Blue and White. The Cavs ended the first period with a 10-0 lead as Starner netted four of the Cavaliers 10 goals. In the second, the scoring barrage continued, and the Cavs held a 15-0 lead at the break.
In the third,
Marissa Mullan and
Lauren Young joined the scoring parade and despite a goal from the Mighty Macs at the 5:32 mark, the Cavs held a commanding 17-1 lead. The fourth saw just one goal from the Cavs as
Neve Murphy found the back of the net with 32 seconds left and the Cabrini cruised to an 18-2 win for their fifth in a row.
Little finished the day with a team-high eight points as the graduate student tallied three goals and five assists. Starner finished with five points on four goals and one assist while Pace recorded two goals and two assists. Defensively,
Caroline Gallagher caused five turnovers and scooped three ground balls.
The Cavaliers return to action on Wednesday, April 19 as Cabrini heads to Hoboken, N.J. for a bout with Stevens University. First draw is set for 7 p.m.
