RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini University women's lacrosse team remained undefeated at home this season as the Cavaliers topped the Saints 18-8 Saturday afternoon.
The Cavaliers opened Saturday's contest with seven straight goals as
Olivia Pace netted her first of five on the day just 26 seconds into the game.
Caroline Gallagher,
Anissa Serafine, and
Maggie Cella followed Pace with three straight before Pace scored her second of the game and Cabrini's fifth by the 11:26 mark.
Olivia Little and Serafine made it 7-0 before Marymount's Ella Baker found the back of the Cabrini net to stop the Cavs scoring streak. Cabrini tacked on two more before the end of the period to take a 9-1 advantage. In the second the Cavs extended their lead to 12-1 and eventually took a 14-2 lead into intermission.
After the break, the Saints led off the third period with a goal from Taylor Chepren, but Pace responded with a goal for Cabrini's 15th on the day at the 10:01 mark. Cella and Gallagher followed suite with goals 16 and 17, respectively, and took a 17-4 lead into the final period. In the fourth, Pace scored her fifth of the contest and despite four straight goals from the Saints to end the game, the Cavs held on for the win to remain unbeaten at home.
Pace tallied seven points on the day as she recorded two assists and five goals. Little finished with eight points on five goals and three assists while Gallagher recorded her third hat trick of the season.
The Cavaliers return to action on Tuesday, April 25 as Cabrini hosts University of Scranton in its final regular season home contest of the year. First draw is set for 6:30 p.m.
