Cavaliers split doubleheader with Marywood

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini University softball team split its doubleheader with Marywood University Monday afternoon as the Cavaliers socked four home runs in Game 1 to win 10-0 before falling 9-2 in Game 2 at Cabrini Field.

In the bottom of the first, Ariana Mirenda scored on an RBI-single from Abby Tobelmann, who later scored on a double from Byrnes to make it 2-0 after one inning. Two innings later in the home half of the third, Madison Gugel sparked a two-out rally with a solo shot to left center. Byrnes and Delaney followed with back-to-back singles before Sydney Andrews and Kelsey Huling hit back-to-back dingers to cap off a five-run third inning.
