Cavaliers stay undefeated at home with win over Neumann

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini University women's lacrosse team remained undefeated at home Wednesday afternoon as the Cavaliers took down Neumann University 21-5 in an Atlantic East Conference matchup.

Graduate student Olivia Little had a hat trick by the 8:23 mark in the first as the Springfield native scored thrice in a row after Shea Neary netted Cabrini's opening goal. The Knights found the back of the Cabrini net twice in the period, but the Cavs answered back both times and scored three times to end the first and take an 8-2 lead. Cabrini almost doubled its goal count in the second period alone as the Cavs scored six unanswered goals beginning and ending with a goal from Maggie Cella to help Cabrini to a 14-2 lead headed to intermission.

After the break, Olivia Pace opened the third with a goal followed by Neumann's third goal and first since the first period. Less than six minutes later, the Knights used a man-up opportunity to score their fourth of the contest, but Cella and Neve Murphy responded with the Cavs 16th and 17th goals. In the fourth, Neumann netted its fifth, but the Cavs lead was as insurmountable as it could be, and Cabrini topped the Knights by a final of 21-5.

Wednesday's game was the sixth time this season that Little has scored five or more goals and it is the third time she assisted on four or more goals. Cella finished with four goals on the day while both Neary and Caroline Gallagher each recorded a hat trick.

The Cavaliers return to action on Wednesday, April 12 as Cabrini hosts Centenary University in an Atlantic East Conference matchup. First draw is set for 4 p.m.
