Dallas, PA - On Tuesday night, Cabrini Men's Soccer traveled to face the Cougars of Misericordia University.
Cabrini would attack early, earning multiple corner kicks in the game's opening minutes.
John Ameyaw placed Cabrini's first shot on goal in the 18th minute.
Two minutes later, Misericordia scored the match's lone goal. The Cougars played a pass from the right sideline to the middle, then narrowly played outside to an oncoming forward. After one touch ahead, he used a left footed strike to drive the ball far post.
Down 1-0, Cabrini sought to score the equalizer.
In the 35th minute,
Nick D'Achille used the space around him to take a shot from 25 yards away. His attempt was saved and covered before any Cavalier could collect the rebound.
In the 75th minute,
Brian Sharkey struck a corner kick cross, but his shot was deflected by a Cougar defender at the penalty marker.
Shortly thereafter,
Jacob Shalev worked the right side and centered a pass to
Matt Duddy. Duddy's one touch strike was knocked away inside the goal box. The ball was played back to Duddy, who beat a defender left to create another shot. His second attempt was saved by Misericordia's goalkeeper from the ground.
With less than two minutes remaining, the Cavs kept the pressure on.
Na'im Roberts played a ball through the air to Cabrini's front line. His pass was headed to the right corner then sent middle, but the cross went untouched.
Hunter Rolles took the game's final shot, as he tried to bury a volley from 18 yards out. His attempt missed wide left.

Griff Rogers made his second consecutive start, facing 8 shots and recording 4 saves in the contest.
The Cavaliers are off the rest of this week. They will begin Atlantic East Conference play on Wednesday, 10/4 at Gwynedd Mercy.
