RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini University women's lacrosse team earned the win in their 2024 season opener with a dominating performance against visiting Albright College on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers opened up with seven goals in the first quarter and allowed just one of their own as they coasted to the comfortable victory.

Cabrini Scoring

• Cabrini took charge of the contest from the opening draw, scoring twice in the opening two minutes. Shea Neary netted the season's first goal while Olivia Little netted the second, both unassisted.
• Little scored her second goal from the help of Neve Murphy, and netted the game's fourth goal by herself at the 11:20 mark in the opening period.
• Shea Neary collected her second goal with an assist from Cassidy Starner, followed by an unassisted score, her third on the day, at 9:54 in the opening period.
• Krista Geibler capped off the Cavaliers' fiery first quarter with a free position shot attempt strike at the 2:46 mark.
• Albright answered back with a score to begin the second quarter, as Sarah Chernis fed Olivia Ball for the Lions' lone goal in the contest. 
• Cabrini responded with 5 more goals of their own in the second quarter, beginning with Olivia Little netting her fourth.
• After a successful clear, Marissa Mullen found the back of the net at 8:13 following a pass from Tessa Vannello.
• Olivia Pace brought the Cavs' into double figures, finishing a free position shot at 4:42.
• Inside the final 3 minutes of the half, Alena Catka scored her first and second career goals, each assisted by Olivia Little.
• Cabrini tacked on three more goals in the third quarter, the first being a score from Olivia Pace from the aid of Cassidy Starner.
• Starner added 2 goals to her 2-assist statline, as she'd score at 5:01 from Tessa Vannello's pass and net a goal at 1:01 from Alena Catka's assist.
• Whitney Hershey netted her first collegiate goal in quarter four with a second chance shot attempt.
• Tessa Vannello scored her first career goal minutes later off an assist from Marissa Mullan.

Cavaliers' Defense

• Cabrini dictated the terms of possession, as the ball continued to find its way upfield into the sticks of Cavalier attackers. 
• Morgan McClintock was ever-present in the defensive midfield, causing 7 turnovers. Neve Murphy was second on the Cavs with 3 caused turnovers.
• Abbey Fenton earned the winning decision in goal, allowing 1 goal across 40 minutes between the pipes. Susie Miller recorded a save in relief after entering in the third quarter.
