- Dom Marotta took the hill for Cabrini. He surrendered just one hit across his first 11 batters faced, retiring the Griffins in order in both the second and third inning.Â
- Cabrini opened the scoring in the top of the third. Dustin Sutton walked, followed by a Jaden Dickerson single that got away from the Griffins' right fielder, scoring Sutton. Ryan Dipper then singled to left, scoring Dickerson from second base.
- The next inning, Colton Narciso singled to right, followed by a walk from Brady Campbell. Jaden Dickerson's single to left field brought Narciso home from scoring position as the Cavaliers led 3-0.
- Marotta left two men stranded in the fourth inning, one on in the fifth and sixth, as Gwynedd Mercy was still without a run through six.
- Cabrini's 4th and 5th runs came in the top of the fifth inning. With two outs, Alan Bautista was hit by a pitch before Jacob Roberts' double down the left field line scored Bautista. Roberts took third base on a wild pitch, as Colton Narciso's infield single brought Roberts across the plate.
- While the home row of the scoreboard flashed zeroes for six innings, GMU rallied in the seventh, producing each of their 3 runs just before their final out. Marotta finished the outing, ringing up the last batter on a swinging strikeout.

How it Happened
- Dustin Sutton led off the game with a single into the gap. Jaden Dickerson then reached base on a fielder's choice try, but an erroneous throw put him on first as Sutton advanced to third. Cabrini capitalized on the misplay, as Ryan Dipper's groundout scored the lead runner.
- Andrew Smith got the start for the Cavaliers and was tested early by the Griffins' lineup. Gwynedd Mercy loaded the bases with two outs in the first, but Smith struck out the next batter looking to escape the inning.
- Cabrini tacked on three runs in the top of the second. Jon Sepe and Jacob Roberts both singled through the left side, putting two runners on for Colton Narciso. Colt doubled down the left field line to score Sepe and Roberts. Narciso then swiped third before Dustin Sutton walked, placing Cavs on the corners. Cabrini then won a baserunning battle, as Sutton stole second and Narciso stole home.
- Armed with a 4-0 lead, Andrew Smith worked through the second, third, and fourth innings without trouble. In the second, he forced a 5-3 double play to end the inning. In the third, Smith fanned two batters looking. In the fourth, Andy retired the Griffins in order on contact to the right side.Â
- In the bottom of the fifth, Smith worked out of a bases loaded, no out jam, surrendering the Griffins' only run. GMU grounded into a double play as the baserunner on third scored before Smith rung up the next batter on strikes to end the inning.
- Josh Colon entered for the Cavaliers in the sixth inning. Colon retired Gwynedd Mercy in order in both the sixth and seventh inning, before drawing a 6-4-3 double play to complete the eighth.
- Cabrini's offense was quiet until the ninth inning, when the Cavaliers threatened to add to their three-run lead. Christian Strickland and Jacob Roberts both hit for singles, putting runners on first and second. After a fielder's choice for the second out, Garrett Laraia singled to third to load the bases. The Cavaliers were unable to bring any more runs across as the Cavs entered the final frame maintaining a 4-1 advantage.
- Josh Colon completed the four-inning save, retiring the final batter on a 4-6 fielder's choice. Colon held the Griffins scoreless, allowing three hits, no walks, and striking out two.
