Men's Soccer Wins Third Straight CSAC Contest, Downs Keystone College, 3-1

The Cabrini men's soccer team captured its third Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) win in three games with a 3-1 victory at Keystone College Saturday. The Cavaliers' offense registered 25 totals shots in the win.

Junior midfielder Evan Hanauer handed Cabrini a one-goal advantage in the 25th minute with his fourth goal of the season. Hanauer took a pass from junior forward Justin McCall for the game's first tally.

Senior Mike McDevitt scored his team-best ninth goal of the season and supplied the Cavaliers with a 2-0 lead at the 28:17 mark with an unassisted marker.

Cabrini held onto a 2-0 lead at halftime on the strength of 14 total shots in the opening period. Keystone goalkeeper Ryan Wagner kept the Cavaliers at bay, making nine of his 13 saves in the first half.

The Giants ended more than 35 minutes of scoreless play, cutting into the Cabrini lead with a goal at the 63:20 mark of the second half. Jamie Ellis' tally trimmed the Cavaliers advantage to 2-1 with less than 27 minutes remaining.

Freshman back Jim Mattock's first career goal, at the 77:34 mark off a pass from sophomore King Saah, ended any thoughts of a potential overtime period. Saah's helper is his first point as a Cavalier.

Senior goalkeeper Colin Hinkelmon tallied four saves in his third win of the season.

The Cavaliers recorded all seven of their corners in the second half. Keystone logged just three tries.

Cabrini (8-2-2, 3-0-0) travels to CSAC foe Neumann College Tuesday, October 14. Match time is set for 4 p.m.
