CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Cabrini men's soccer team remains unbeaten in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play following a resounding 6-0 win at Baptist Bible College Wednesday. The win propels the Cavaliers to the 10-win plateau for the third straight season.
The Cabrini offense recorded a staggering 28 shots against just six from the Defenders. Senior Mike McDevitt led the barrage, notching a team-high seven shots. Junior Justin McCall and sophomore King Saah, making his first career start as a Cavalier, added five shots.
McCall initiated the game's scoring with his nine goal of the season at the 14:40 mark of the first half. Senior John Graham's cross into the box was redirected into the BBC net off McCall's head.
McDevitt supplied the Cavaliers with a two-goal edge, depositing his team-best 10th goal of the season, an unassisted tally, in the 32nd minute.
Cabrini extended its advantage to three goals less than seven minutes into the second half. Junior Evan Hanauer, off a feed from McDevitt, converted his sixth goal of the season at the 51:42 mark.
Saah found the back of the net for his first career goal in a Cavaliers uniform at the 67:08 mark, pushing the cushion to 4-0. The marker went unassisted and beat Baptist Bible goalkeeper Andrew Cartledge on a shot from just inside the box.
Freshman Sam Webb also recorded his first career goal, beating Cartledge in the 77th minute off a pass from classmate Patrick Tobey. Rookie Eric Collins capped the game's scoring less than four minutes following with his second goal of the season.
Senior Colin Hinkelmon and sophomore Mike Viscarello combined for the shutout. Hinkelmon logged nearly 71 minutes of action, making two saves. Viscarello registered 19 minutes in net for the Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers owned a commanding 12-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Cabrini (10-3-2, 5-0-0) continues its CSAC schedule Saturday, October 25 against Marywood University at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m.
