RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men's soccer team stretched its unbeaten streak to seven games with a 5-0 win against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Keystone College Saturday at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Prior to the game's opening whistle, fifth-year head coach Glen Jaskelewicz and his coaching staff recognized the team's nine seniors.
The Cavaliers' offense wasted no time in asserting itself against the Giants, scoring the match's first goal less than six minutes in. Senior midfielder Brian Raffle scored the first of his two goals on passes from senior midfielder Brian Moran and senior forward Justin McCall at the 5:52 mark.
Senior forward Mike Giunta notched his first career goal less than two minutes following, converting a pass from McCall at the 7:28 mark. Junior forward Steve Reynolds found the back of the net in the 42nd minute off a feed from sophomore forward Eric Collins, supplying Cabrini with a 3-0 advantage at the intermission.
The Cavaliers ballooned their lead to four goals, 4-0, with senior midfielder Evan Hanauer's tally at the 65:26 mark. Brian Moran and senior midfielder Andrew Jacobs earned the assists on the score.
Raffle added his goal in the 71st minute, capping the contest's scoring.
Cabrini senior goalkeeper Bryan Johnson kept the Giants off the scoreboard in 45 minutes of action, making one save. Junior goalkeeper Mike Viscariello completed the shutout with three saves in the second half.
The Cavaliers' attack out-shot the Giants, 35-6, and generated seven corner kick attempts.
Keystone goalkeeper Ryan Gilroy posted nine saves in the loss.
The men's soccer senior class has been a part of 57 overall victories, including 16 in 2007 and 15 in 2008. The senior class played an integral role in the Blue & White's run to the CSAC title last season and first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1999.
The CSAC Men's Soccer Tournament begins Tuesday, November 3. The semifinal round games will be held Thursday, November 5. The championship match is Saturday, November 7 at Immaculata University.
