ROSEMONT, Pa. –
The Cabrini men's soccer team opened its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) regular season schedule with a 3-0 win versus Rosemont College Saturday afternoon. Junior back Troy Allen scored two goals, including his first of the season, in the victory.

Dating back to the 2008 season, the Cavaliers are now riding an 11-match win streak against CSAC opponents, including the postseason. Cabrini last dropped a game against a conference opponent versus Eastern University (4-0) in the 2007 semifinal round.

The Blue & White jumped out early on the Ravens Saturday, grabbing a one-goal advantage less than seven minutes after the opening whistle. Senior forward Justin McCall converted a feed from sophomore back Kyle Johnson off a corner kick at the 6:31 mark.

The Cavaliers held a 2-0 cushion at the intermission after Allen deposited the first of his two penalty goals at the 44:37 mark. Allen buried his second PK try in the 48th minute, supplying the visitors with a 3-0 lead and the game's final score.

Cabrini out-shot Rosemont, 21-12. Allen, McCall and senior midfielder Brian Moran each recorded three shots.

Senior goalkeeper Bryan Johnson tallied three saves in just over 76 minutes of action. Junior netminder Mike Viscariello closed out the contest, helping the goalkeeping duo notched their second team shutout of the season.

Rodney Aguirre and Patrick McElroy led the Ravens' offense, each notching three shots. RC goalkeeper Ron Vogelei totaled 12 stops in the loss.

Saturday's match featured the first between the Cavaliers and Ravens in men's athletic competition. Rosemont is in its first year of co-educational enrollment and are sponsoring men's athletic programs in basketball, soccer and tennis.

Cabrini (7-2-1, 1-0-0) plays its final non-conference match of the season Tuesday, September 30 at Widener University. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
