RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men's basketball team has matched a season-high six-game win streak following a 74-63 win versus Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe Rosemont College Saturday afternoon in Nerney Field House. The Cavaliers' offense boasted four scorers in double figures in the win.
Senior forward Kevin Misevicius totaled 17 points and 11 rebounds, posting his first double-double of the season and the seventh of his Cabrini career. Misevicius chipped in five steals and four assists. He has scored in double figures in 27 straight games.
Junior forward Dom Farrello recorded 17 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Farrello grabbed five of his seven boards on the offensive end.
Freshman point guard Cory Lemons tallied 16 points, four rebounds and three helpers. Lemons has scored in double figures in seven consecutive games, including a 34-point effort last time out versus Keystone College.
Sophomore forward Brandon Carter coupled 11 points with nine boards and five assists. Freshman center Goran Dulac paired nine points with eight rebounds.
The Cavaliers owned a two-point advantage at halftime despite shooting just 36.1 percent from the floor overall. The Blue & White was held to a worse shooting performance (36.0 percent) in its lone loss of the season at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
The Ravens hung around in the second half and took its only lead of the contest, 50-48, at the 9:43 mark after DeAndre Jordan finished a lay-in on the break.
Misevicius' two free throws with 7:53 remaining handed the Cavaliers a 52-50 lead and an advantage they would never lose. Cabrini pushed its lead to five points, 63-58, at the 2:58 mark after two free throws from Farrello.
The Cavaliers' lead ballooned to a game-high 13 points, 74-61, with 1:01 on the clock after Lemons downed two charity tosses.
Rosemont junior forward Greg Gardner and sophomore guard Harrison Carsillo each scored 13 points. Freshman forward Tremell Green added 10 points off the bench.
Saturday's game marked the first all-time between Cabrini and Rosemont on the hardwood in men's basketball. The Ravens, under head coach Ryan Tozer, are in their first season of competition in 2009-10.
Cabrini is now unbeaten through seven games this season against CSAC opponents. The Cavaliers are also perfect at home in six games and 22-2 on the Nerney Field House hardwood since the start of the 2008-09 seasons.
Cabrini (12-1, 7-0) wraps up a four-game homestand Thursday, Jan. 21 versus Neumann University. Game time against the Knights is set for 8 p.m., following the women's contest.
