RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men's basketball team is riding a season-best seven-game win streak and remains unbeaten in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play through eight games after an 88-79 win against Neumann University Thursday night in Nerney Field House.
Senior forward Kevin Misevicius powered the Cavaliers' offense with a team-high 24 points. Misevicius notched eight rebounds, four assists and four steals. He knocked down four 3-point field goals, including one at the end of the first half as the buzzer sounded to Cabrini 48-41 lead at the intermission.
Misevicius has scored in double figures in 28 straight games and 42-of-44 as a Cavalier since the start of last season. He has eclipsed the 20-point plateau 23 times during his Cabrini career.
Sophomore forward Brandon Carter scored a career-high 18 points, reaching double figures for the third straight game. Carter coupled with four rebounds with four assists and four steals.
Freshman point guard Cory Lemons flirted with a triple-double and settled for his second double-double of the season, scoring 17 points and claiming 10 rebounds. Lemons dropped five assists.
Junior forward Dom Farrello and junior guard Lamar Fisher each scored 10 points. The Cavaliers' offense boasted five scorers in double figures for the first time this season.
Cabrini closed the first half on an 8-0 run. Misevicius capped the spurt with the trifecta with no time left on the clock. Neumann shot 51.7 percent from the field in the first half, while the Cavaliers drained 46.7 percent of their tries.
The Blue & White used a 9-2 run and pushed its lead to 13 points, 63-50, with 12:35 remaining in the second half. Cabrini led by a game-high 14 points, 69-55, at the 9:54 mark.
The Knights climbed to within seven points, 69-62, with 7:59 on the clock and trailed by just six points, 80-74, with 1:43 remaining.
Behind five points from Farrello down the stretch, the Cavaliers reasserted an 11-point cushion, 86-75, with 23 ticks left.
Neumann senior guard Na'Sheed Linton led all scorers with 29 points on 10-for-16 shooting overall. Sophomore guard Mike Walukiewicz chipped in 17 points off the bench, burying 5-of-8 3-point attempts.
The win improves the Blue & White's record at home to a perfect 7-0. The Cavaliers are 23-2 and 14-0 versus CSAC opponents at home since the start of the last season.
Cabrini (13-1, 8-0) takes to the road against Immaculata University Saturday, Jan. 23 at 1 p.m.
