RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men's soccer team generated all of its offense in the second half en route to a 3-0 win against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Baptist Bible College on Wednesday night at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Junior forward Eric Collins scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season for the Cavaliers in the victory.
Collins netted the eventual game-winning tally in the 54th minute. Sophomore midfielders Ryan Juhring and Pat Wehring set up the score, feeding the ball to the front of the Defenders' goal. Collins leads the Blue & White with four game-winning goals this season.
Freshman midfielder C.J. Doherty added Cabrini's second goal in the 73rd minute, finding the net for the second time this year. Fellow freshman midfielder Taylor Scarpino earned an assist on the marker, serving the ball into the box before Doherty headed it past BBC goalkeeper freshman Ian McGovern.
Freshman midfielder Gabe Kuhn scored the Cavaliers' second insurance tally in the 84th minute, pushing the lead to three goals, 3-0. Kuhn gathered a loose ball at the top of the box before beating McGovern low with his first career goal.
The Blue & White out-shot the Defenders for the match, 20-9. Collins, Juhring and Kuhn led the charge, each recording four shot attempts.
Freshman goalkeeper Eric Nowicki collected five saves for his first career shutout. McGovern totaled eight stops for Baptist Bible in the loss.
Cabrini (5-8-0, 3-1-0) continues its CSAC regular season slate on the road against Gwynedd-Mercy College on Saturday, Oct. 16. Match time against the Griffins is set for 3 p.m.
