IMMACULATA, Pa. –
The Cabrini men's soccer team gained ground in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) standings with a critical 1-0 win on the road against Immaculata University on Tuesday afternoon. Junior back Jim Mattock's second career goal proved to be the game-winning tally for the Cavaliers.

Mattock's first goal of the season put the Blue & White ahead for good in the 37th minute when he beat Immaculata University goalkeeper Joshua Garcia with an unassisted score. The Cavaliers and Mighty Macs each recorded 14 shots in the contest.

Junior forward Eric Collins led the Cabrini attack with three shots attempts. Mattock, senior back Troy Allen and freshman forward Ryan Cerrato each tallied two shots.

Freshman goalkeeper Eric Nowicki posted three saves for his sixth win of the season and second career shutout. Nowicki notched five stops for his first career blanking against Baptist Bible College on Oct. 13.

Today's one-goal victory, paired with a Centenary College 1-0 loss at Rosemont College, places the Blue & White in sole possession of third place in the CSAC standings. The Cavaliers have just one conference match remaining in the regular season.

Cabrini (7-9-1, 5-2-1) closes out its 2010 regular season on the road versus CSAC opponent Marywood University on Saturday, Oct. 30. Match time against the Pacers is set for 1 p.m.
