The Cabrini men's basketball team returned to action tonight following a 14-day lay-off on the road versus Capital Athletic Conference opponent York (PA) College. The Spartans used a 62.1 percent shooting clip in the second half to erase a three-point halftime deficit en route to a 92-84 victory against the Cavaliers.

Junior guard John Boyd notched his first double-double of the season in the loss for the Blue & White, scoring 31 points and recording 10 rebounds. Boyd shot 9-for-19 overall and 4-for-9 from beyond the 3-point arc.

Sophomore guard Cory Lemons flirted with a triple-double, tallying 15 points, supplying seven assists and grabbing six rebounds. Freshman forward Fran Rafferty also reached double figures, netting 11 points, all in the second.

Boyd quickly asserted himself in the second half, draining a triple from the top of the key on the Cavaliers' first possession.  The basket pushed the Cabrini advantage to six points out of the gate, 36-30, its largest lead of the second half.

York responded with 11 of the game's next 13 points, securing a 41-38 edge at the 17:32 mark and never relinquishing the front-runner role. The Spartans pushed their lead to eight points, 58-50, with 11:56 remaining.

However, the Blue & White stayed within striking distance, but could never push itself over the hump down the stretch. Cabrini trimmed its deficit to three points, 67-64, at the 6:24 mark after a lay-in from freshman guard Keefer Francis.

The Spartans shot a marksmen-like 15-for-20 from the foul line in the final 5:06 to seal the victory. York shot 33-for-48 from the stripe for the contest overall.
