Men's Soccer Falls on Day One at Jimmy Mills Tournament Against Haverford College

HAVERFORD, Pa. –
The Cabrini men's soccer team remains in pursuit of its first win of the 2010 season following a 2-0 setback on Saturday afternoon against Haverford College as part of the annual Jimmy Mills Tournament.

Junior midfielder Tyler Freeman put the Fords on the scoreboard with the match's first goal in the 25th minute, converting a feed from junior midfielder Alejandro Rettig y Martinez. Freeman beat Cabrini freshman goalkeeper Eric Nowicki from six yards out.

Haverford added an insurance marker in the 85th minute when sophomore midfielder Matt Gorski netted an unassisted tally.

Junior forward Eric Collins led the Cavaliers' offense with four shots. Haverford out-shot the Blue & White for the match, 18-9.

Nowicki went the distance between the pipes for Cabrini and totaled two saves in the loss.

Haverford senior goalkeeper Jamey Applegate needed just one save for the victory.

Cabrini (0-4-0) continues play tomorrow at the Jimmy Mills Tournament hosted by Haverford against Alvernia University. Match time versus the Crusaders is set for 12 p.m.
