ROSEMONT, Pa. –
The Cabrini men's soccer team snapped its seven-match skid to begin the 2010 season on Saturday afternoon, out-lasting Rosemont College in overtime, 2-1. Junior forward Eric Collins netted two scores for the Cavaliers in the victory, including the golden goal just 77 seconds into the extra session.

Collins helped clinched Cabrini's 20th victory against a CSAC opponent since the 2008 season in the 92nd minute, converting a feed from junior back Jim Mattock. The Cavaliers recorded a season-high 20 shots in the match against 11 from Rosemont.

Collins also scored the match's first goal and provided Cabrini a 1-0 advantage following more than 81 minutes of scoreless action.

However, the Ravens answered shortly thereafter, tying the contest, 1-1, in the 87th minute. Freshman midfielder Mustafa Said netted the match's equalizer off a feed from sophomore midfielder Ryan Hartzell.

Cabrini freshman goalkeeper Eric Nowicki totaled three saves for his first career collegiate victory. Sophomore netminder Nick Hulayew posted eight stops for Rosemont in the loss.

The victory is the Cavaliers' second in two matches all-time against the Ravens. Rosemont is in its second full season of varsity men's soccer after adding the program at the start of the 2009 campaign.

Cabrini (1-7-0, 1-0-0) returns to Edith Robb Dixon Field for a date with Commonwealth Conference opponent Widener University on Wednesday, Sept. 29. Match time against the Pride is set for 4 p.m.
