CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Cabrini men's basketball team steadied its position at the top of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) standings with its 10th straight victory on Saturday afternoon, topping Baptist Bible College, 92-81. The Cavaliers' 10-game win streak matches their longest in two-and-a-half seasons under third-year head coach Marcus Kahn.
The Cabrini offense posted five scorers in double figures led by sophomore point guard Cory Lemons' 26-point effort on an 11-for-14 shooting performance. Lemons knocked down 2-of-3 3-point attempts and handed out five assists.
Junior guard John Boyd totaled 19 points, shooting 6-for-11 overall and 2-of-4 from long range. Sophomore center Goran Dulac netted 16 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the field.
Senior forward Dom Farrello paired 11 points with nine rebounds. Freshman forward Fran Rafferty notched 10 points.
The Cavaliers' shot 51.4 percent from the field in the first half en route to a 51-38 lead at the intermission. Lemons led three members of the Blue & White in double figures in the first half with 13 points.
Cabrini led by as much as 23 points, 81-58, at the 7:40 mark of the second half. Rafferty capped the Cavaliers' decisive spurt with a 3-point basket.
The Blue & White shot a perfect 18-for-18 from the foul line. The Cavaliers shot 52.4 percent from the field for the game.
Luke Peterson led the Defenders in the loss with 21 points on 8-for-13 shooting overall. Ryan Sullivan (13) and Tommy Waszaj (12) also each scored in double figures.
The Cavaliers also put together a 10-game win streak last season, en route to the CSAC title and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Cabrini (16-4, 12-1) next tangles with CSAC rival Gwynedd-Mercy College on the road on Monday, Feb. 7 at approximately 8 p.m.
