ALLENTOWN, Pa. –
The Cabrini softball team clinched the sixth and final seed in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Tournament with a two-game split at Cedar Crest College on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore P Missy Miller tossed a five-hitter en route to a 5-1 victory in game two against the Falcons.

Miller collected her fifth win and logged her 12th complete game of the season versus Cedar Crest. She allowed just three walks and struck out.

Junior 3B Ryan McDonough provided a bulk of the offense for the Cavaliers, going 1-for-4 at the plate and driving in three runs. McDonough's RBI single in the top of the 7th inning plated two runs and provided the Blue & White some insurance.

Junior SS Sammy Thompson also knocked in one run in game two. She went 2-for-4 at the dish and scored three runs.

Cabrini jumped out to a 1-0 lead after the 1st and owned a 2-0 edge following the bottom of the 5th. The Cavaliers hung three runs on the scoreboard in the 7th inning. The Falcons committed six errors in the loss.

Cedar Crest (11-21, 10-12 CSAC) scored four runs in the 1st inning en route to a 5-1 victory in game one. Laura Swan Hall notched three RBI in the win.

Junior 1B Angela Shookster provided the Cavaliers' lone offensive spark in the setback, driving in one run on an RBI ground-out in the 4th inning. Sophomore CF Lindsey Atzert recorded two of the Blue & White's four hits in the loss.

Sophomore  P Marcelle Crist was saddled with the loss, lasting all 6.0 innings and striking out four. Crist leads the Cavaliers' staff with 15 complete games in 2011.

The doubleheader split sends Cabrini (13-19, 12-10 CSAC) to the CSAC Tournament for the third straight season under 4th-year head coach Lisa McGregor. In 2010, the Cavaliers advanced to the conference title game.
