RADNOR, Pa. –
Coming off its 2011 “Sweet 16” appearance, the Cabrini College men's basketball team is ranked preseason number 10 in NCAA Division III by the 2011-12 Sporting News College Basketball Preview magazine.

Senior Cory Lemons, the 2011 CSAC Player of the Year, was selected as Honorable Mention Preseason All-American by the publication.

“It is definitely an honor for our program to be recognized by Sporting News,” said Cabrini's fourth-year head coach Marcus Kahn.  “This is a testament to the dedication and commitment of our student-athletes, staff, and institution.  It is great to be listed among the best in September, but we are hoping to still be on the list in March.”

Kahn's 2011-12 squad will lean heavily on its experience after finishing 24-6 last season and 71-17 under Kahn. The two-time defending Colonial States Athletic Conference Champion Cavaliers will need to fill the gap left by 2011 All-CSAC 1st teamer Dom Farello.

Cabrini returns six players who contributed significant minutes to last season's success.  Lemons paced the Cavaliers with 17.3 points, 6.5 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game.  Senior John Boyd averaged 12.4 points per contest. Sophomore Fran Rafferty will look to improve on his 8.6 points per game during his rookie season.

The inside-outside combination of Goran Dulac and A.J. Williams will also be an important part of the Blue and White's 2011-12 plan.

The Cavaliers will open the 2011-12 campaign on November 15 when they welcome Haverford College to the Nerney Field House.
