RADNOR, Pa. –
As the Cabrini College men's basketball team prepares to open practice for its 2012-13 campaign, the preseason expectations are starting to build for the Cavaliers.  DIII News, part of SmallCollegeHoops.com, recently released its 2012-13 Preseason Top 25 and listed the Blue and White as No. 5 in the nation.

“It's an honor to be recognized and thought of as one of the top programs in the country,” said Cabrini's fifth year head coach Marcus Kahn.  “We are excited to get started on Monday and look forward to playing a very tough schedule and finding our way through a very balanced CSAC.  We hope that at the end of the year we are still worthy of the recognition.”

Kahn, the NABC and D3hoops.com Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year, led the Blue and White to the nation's best record last year at 31-2, culminating in the school's first appearance in a National Championship game.

The Cavaliers return a solid core of experienced players, led by seniors A.J. Williams, Goran Dulac and Jeremy Knowles and junior Fran Rafferty.  Kahn will also look to last year's role players and a talented group of freshman and transfers to provide depth and toughness.

Virginia Wesleyan, who the Cavaliers could face in the season's opening weekend, Wisconsin-Whitewater, North Central and Woosster round out the top five spots in the DIII News Preseason Top 25.

Cabrini will open the 2012-13 season on November 16 when it travels to Virginia Beach for the Virginia Wesleyan Tip-Off Tournament.  The Cavaliers will open against The Apprentice School at 5:30.  On Saturday, the Blue and White will face either Virginia Wesleyan on St. Vincent College.
