The Cavaliers opened the game with a Brad Fagan steal and a Williams lay-up.  The Marlins responded with six quick points before the Cavaliers tied the score at 6-6 with 15:24 on the clock.  It was the last tie of the game, as Virginia Wesleyan outscored Cabrini 33-16 through the rest of the first half.

The Blue and White cut its deficit to 15 points three times early in the second half but could get no further.  While the Cavaliers tried to find their rhythm, the Marlins continued to extend their lead, again connecting on half of their field goal attempts, including 8-12 from three point range.
