RADNOR, Pa. –
The Cabrini College softball team extended its current win streak to five games with today's 17-0 and 17-1 wins over the visiting Valley Forge Christian College Patriots today at Cabrini Field.  The Blue and White now stand at 8-6 on the season.

Cabrini's three seniors, Sammy Thompson, Ryan McDonough and Angela Shookster, led the offense. The trio went a combined 16-20 with 17 RBI's and 13 runs scored, including Shookster's first two home runs of the season.

Cabrini 's pitching tandem shut down the Patriots' offense.  In the opener, junior Marcelle Crist allowed just one fourth inning hit in her five innings of work.  Junior Missy Miller also answered the call, allowing one earned run on five hits while striking out five in five innings.

The Cavaliers took over in the first inning of game one when Shookster hit a three run homer.  Thompson, Cabrini's leadoff hitter recorded two hits in the inning, including a three-run double to center field.  By the end of the first inning, eight Cavaliers touched the plate.

The Blue and White posted another eight spot in the third inning. The Cavaliers used six singles and two walks to advance runners station to station.  Cabrini tacked on another run in the fourth when freshman Amanda Toth knocked fellow freshman Stephanie Diegel.

Thompson and McDonough recorded three hits and three RBI's each in the opening game win.

Cabrini took advantage of early opportunities in the second game as well.  The Cavaliers scored three runs in the first inning, punctuated by Shookster's two-run blast.

The Blue and White plated five runs in the second and third innings, but Cabrini really broke the game open in the fourth inning.  The Cavaliers scored nine runs on 10 hits.

Cabrini made 15 plate appearances during the frame with freshman designated player Jessica Irvin and Miller recording two hits each.  Miller and Shookster also recorder 2 RBI's each in the inning.

Both Thompson and Irvin went 4-4 with three runs scored.  Cabrini's senior trio each knocked in three runs.

Cabrini will travel down the Main Line tomorrow to face Haverford College (6-1-1) in a nonconference doubleheader.  First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
